At the NYC premiere of ‘A Complete Unknown’, Timothée Chalamet sported a look reminiscent of Bob Dylan, complete with blonde bangs. The 26-year-old actor, popular for his roles in ‘Dune’ and ‘Call Me By Your Name’, was spotted donning a 1970s-style outfit that brought to mind the iconic folk singer’s aesthetic during the same period.
Chalamet’s ensemble, consisting of a dark brown suit, oversized sunglasses, and a wide-brimmed hat, was clearly influenced by Dylan’s signature style. Coupled with his newly dyed, shaggy blonde hair, the star’s appearance sparked immediate comparisons to the legendary musician. Dylan was known for his blonde locks in the mid-to-late 1960s, around the time of his transitional shift into rock and electric music.
It’s noteworthy that Chalamet’s homage to Bob Dylan doesn’t come out of the blue. The actor is slated to play the Nobel Prize-winning singer-songwriter in James Mangold’s upcoming biopic, ‘Going Electric’. The film will dive deep into the period when Dylan controversially traded his acoustic guitar for an electric one, causing a stir in the music world.
Given these insights, it’s safe to say that Chalamet’s ‘Dylan-esque’ look at the ‘A Complete Unknown’ premiere was a nod to his upcoming role, providing audiences a hint of what to expect in the highly anticipated biopic about one of music’s most influential figures.
