Vanessa Lachey has chosen to address the public about the age gap between her and her husband, Nick Lachey, during a conversation with E! Online. The couple, who celebrated their ninth wedding anniversary in July 2020, has been a picture of poise and grace despite questions around their age difference.
The 40-year-old TV personality and former Miss Teen USA winner clarified the matter in an interview with E! Online. She mentioned, “My husband is 47. He’s eight years older than me. It’s a big age gap,” emphasizing how the difference in their respective ages has not affected the love and mutual respect they share for each other.
In the same interview, Vanessa Lachey explained how the couple’s age difference has positively impacted their relationship. She elaborated that older and more mature partners often bring more wisdom and guidance into a relationship, which has been the case in their marriage.
Instead of seeing this gap as a hindrance, the couple embrace it as strength. The former Total Request Live host shared, “It’s almost like the age gap brings a level of stability to our relationship. Nick has gone a few laps ahead of me, so when I’m in a situation, he’s been there, he’s done that, and he can guide us.”
The Lacheys got married in July 2011 and have since been parents to three children. Their age difference, while sometimes a topic of discussion, never stood as an obstacle in their relationship, demonstrating that age truly is just a number in love.
