An Atwater-based woman recently joined the ranks of lottery victors by securing a staggering $10 million on a scratch ticket. The winning ticket was purchased from Fast Mart, located at 1590 Bellevue Road in Atwater. The ticket was a 50X the Money scratcher, making for a life-changing win.

Mauricio Luna, owner of the winning location, revealed that the store would receive a $50,000 bonus from the California Lottery for selling the winning ticket. These lottery bonuses form part of the revenue which California’s small businesses earn from participating in the lottery.

The Atwater woman prefers to keep her identity private despite her windfall. However, she chose to share her immediate plans with the winnings, which include paying off her mortgage and other debts. The woman also manifested to use a part of this large amount to go on a long-desired vacation.

The California Lottery also informed that winners have the right to stay anonymous if they so wish. Their names are only made public if it is deemed in the public interest. Nonetheless, all winners are encouraged to immediately sign the back of their tickets, keep them in a safe place, and reach out to Lottery officials to claim their prizes.

The 50X the Money scratcher game, alongside others, provides a major source of funding for public schools in California. As such, sales from these games contribute to the educational system in the state, giving this form of gambling a social benefit in addition to the potential for individual richdom.
