Bryce Dallas Howard admitted to mistakenly believing that superstar act Tom Cruise had died during a particularly tense fan event, according to an interview with the actress on “The Jess Cagle Show”. Howard recalled a specific interaction with a fan at an event in London, noting the event was “really crazy”.

On the talk show, Howard related the event which happened about a decade ago. Cruise was standing next to Howard when a fan who – at the time – had grabbed considerable media attention due to his unusual hairstyle bounded into the room. “He got closer and closer and closer and I thought, ‘Oh, this guy is about to do something, like he’s going to do something dangerous,'” Howard remarked.

At the critical moment, the fan, keen to meet the “Mission Impossible” star, appeared to fall heavily upon Cruise, causing Howard to believe that he had been fatally injured. However, the fans intentions were far from malicious. Howard stated, “And then he face plants into the area where Tom is and I was like, ‘He just killed Tom Cruise!'”

Despite the false scare, Cruise emerged from the fan interaction unscathed, although slightly ruffled. Howard further detailed her fears in moment. “But no, it turned out he was unfazed and I was completely freaked out and unnerved.”

Referring to the fan encounter, Howard revealed her deep admiration for Cruise, praising him for his collected and gracious demeanor while interacting with fans. “He’s such a pro about this kind of thing, and was completely generous about it,” she said.

There is no doubt that, although she was startled by the incident, Bryce Dallas Howard’s perspective of Tom Cruise hasn’t wavered. She continues to regard him highly, and often lauds him for his professionalism and composure during such occurrences. This account serves as a vivid reminder that public figures can have intense experiences, even within their fan interactions, but the capacity to stay calm and collected is a trait of true resilience and professionalism.
