Amazon MGM Studios is set to adapt Colleen Hoover’s ‘Verity’ into a film, bringing together a star-studded cast including Dakota Johnson and Josh Hartnett, who will be co-starring alongside Anne Hathaway. The book, a romantic thriller penned by Hoover, has garnered much anticipation for its big-screen adaptation.
Anne Hathaway will lead the film, portraying the titular character Verity. Dakota Johnson and Josh Hartnett’s roles, however, have yet to be disclosed. ‘Verity’ revolves around a struggling writer who is granted an unexpected opportunity to finish an established author’s novel following a tragic accident. The opportunity quickly turns strange when the writer discovers an alarming manuscript penned by the author. The role of the writer is presumed to be tackled by Hathaway while the exact roles for Hartnett and Johnson are still under wraps.
The ‘Verity’ adaptation adds to MGM’s expansive roster of new and upcoming projects, following its recent acquisition by Amazon. This will be yet another opportunity for the studio to showcase its ability to turn acclaimed novels into award-winning big screen narratives. The project is still in its early stages with further developments yet to be announced.
