The Dallas Mavericks’ star player, Luka Dončić, is set to be liberated from his playing time restrictions as his team prepares for a highly anticipated showdown against the Los Angeles Lakers. These minute limits on Luka’s game time had been in place following his return from an ankle injury.

In a press conference, Mavericks’ Head Coach Rick Carlisle expressed his confidence in Dončić’s recovery. “He’s had a good week of practice, he’s moving well, and we feel confident that he’s ready for some more playing time,” Carlisle stated.

The European guard-forward, who had been sidelined for seven games because of a severe ankle sprain, made his much-anticipated return against the Sacramento Kings on January 10, 2022. In that game, Dončić’s performance was closely monitored, and he was restricted to playing just 33 minutes.

Despite the imposed limit, Dončić had a commendable performance against the Kings, scoring 33 points, 13 rebounds, and 11 assists, thus recording his twelfth triple-double of the season. His return and continued strong performances have been a boost for the Mavericks, who have been struggling with injuries in their roster recently.

As Dončić’s minute restrictions are lifted, fans and fellow players alike eagerly await to see how the 22-year-old Slovenian will enhance his game as the season progresses. Facing the Lakers will indeed be an examination of his physical condition and skill level.

The match against the Los Angeles Lakers scheduled for 12th January, 2022, will showcase the strength and resilience of both the teams, and perhaps even more exciting, the continued ascent of Luka Dončić’s basketball career.
