According to sources, the Detroit Lions are initiating a process to hire John Morton as their Offensive Coordinator. The informant considered this an internal business matter and wished to remain anonymous, as this news was not officially public at the time.

Morton, who had previously served as the OC for the New York Jets before he was let go after the 2017 season, had also worked in the same capacity for the University of Southern California and with the San Francisco 49ers as a wide receivers coach. His vast experience leaves no doubt in the mind about the quality of his work.

The decision to employ Morton is seen as a strategic move by the Lions. The organization is reportedly looking to make improvements on their offense for the coming season.

The sources have not provided a timeline for the official announcement, and the Lions’ organization has not commented on this matter as yet.
