The recent injury of Geno Smith, the quarterback for the Seattle Seahawks, along with several other players, has drawn attention and concern. Updates regarding Smith’s knee injury and the condition of the rest of the team are now available.

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll revealed during his Monday appearance on 710 ESPN Seattle’s ‘Wyman and Bob’ show that Smith had a ‘little bit of a sore knee’. However, Carroll didn’t elaborate on whether the knee issue would affect Smith’s availability for future games. This information is crucial, as Smith filled in for Russell Wilson, who suffered a finger injury during a game against the Los Angeles Rams.

There’s a potential bit of positive news for the Seahawks elsewhere on the injury front. Wilson, who is currently on the injured reserve after undergoing surgery for a mallet finger on his throwing hand, has been progressing well, according to Carroll. The coach noted that Wilson’s finger is healing faster than expected, but a projected return has yet to be confirmed.

Besides Smith and Wilson, other Seahawks players have also been dealing with injuries. Running back Chris Carson had an issue with his neck that saw him placed on the injured reserve, and tight end Everette has been nursing ankle damage. Pro Bowl safety Jamal Adams also sat out from practice last week due to a groin injury, although his status for the upcoming game is not yet clear.

All these injuries are affecting the Seahawks’ performance and their standings in the National Football League (NFL). The team, currently sitting at a 3-3 record, faces forward to their upcoming matches hoping that their injured players will recover quickly.
