Speculation has been rife over whether Hollywood actress Mila Kunis was on the verge of declining her role in the movie “Friends With Benefits.” Clearing the air in a recent conversation, Kunis, who co-starred with Justin Timberlake in the film, confirmed that it was a close call for her.

In the 2011 romantic comedy, Kunis portrayed Jamie Rellis, a head hunter in New York City who enters a casual relationship with Dylan Harper (Timberlake). The film, directed by Will Gluck, explores the complexities of modern relationships. It was a box-office hit, earning over $150 million worldwide. But, according to Kunis, she was indecisive about playing the lead role at first.

The actress, known for her performances in hit films like “Black Swan” and “Bad Moms”, revealed there was a time when she considered turning down the “Friends With Benefits” offer. “When I first got the script, I thought it was borderline inappropriate,” she admitted. The explicit sex scenes in the script, she said, were what initially made her hesitant. However, after meeting director Will Gluck and her co-star Justin Timberlake, she confessed she felt more comfortable with the part.

“I met with Will first and then Justin. I felt the most comfortable I’ve felt in such a circumstance,” she reflected. “There was so much trust there.” Kunis also credited the inclusive environment created on set, saying that it was pivotal in assuaging her initial reservations.

Despite the initial hesitation, Kunis’ bet did pay off. “Friends With Benefits” was widely appreciated by the audience and critics alike for its unconventional take on love and relationships. Additionally, it underscored Kunis’ versatility and acting prowess, strengthening her position in the Hollywood landscape. It might have been a close call, but in retrospect, it seems like Kunis made the right choice.
